Editorial Policy
How we keep this site useful, transparent, and safe to read.
Purpose
The Iodine Protocol publishes educational information about nail fungus, iodine antiseptics, nail growth, and practical foot-care routines. The site does not diagnose disease, replace medical care, or guarantee treatment results.
Who writes this site
Pages are written and maintained by The Iodine Protocol editorial team, an independent group that reads and cross-checks published literature, drug labels, and public-health resources. We are not a medical practice, we do not sell iodine products, and no page on this site should be read as personal medical advice.
How we grade evidence
We label what each claim rests on. Where the evidence for iodine and nail fungus is a case report or a small review, we say so in plain language, and where prescription options have stronger trial data, we show the comparison rather than hide it. Personal stories are described as experiences, never as proof of outcome.
Update and review cycle
Every page carries a visible last-reviewed date. Guides are re-checked when new sources appear, when readers report errors, or at minimum annually. Substantive corrections are made in the page itself, not in footnotes.
Sources
We prioritize peer-reviewed medical journals, public-health resources, drug labels, and clearly identified case reports. Personal stories are treated as individual experiences, not proof that the same outcome will happen for another reader.
Medical caution
Because foot problems can be serious for people with diabetes, poor circulation, immune suppression, open wounds, pregnancy, thyroid disease, or iodine allergy, our pages direct those readers to consult a qualified healthcare professional before trying a home routine.
Corrections and updates
We update pages when we find clearer sources, factual errors, broken links, or safety information that should be easier to see. Readers can send corrections through the contact page.
Advertising independence
Advertising, donations, or affiliate relationships do not control our editorial conclusions. Sponsored placements, if added, will be visually labeled and kept separate from the article text.
